Sediment Control
Silt Sock is a polypropylene mesh sock filled with a filter material. It is a low-maintenance, cost-effective and environmentally friendly product used for sediment control on job sites.
Filled socks may be used as an alternative to silt fence and straw bales in many areas. Silt Sock has a low profile allowing for easy site access, is not prone to washouts or wind damage, reduces water pooling and significantly reduces maintenance costs throughout the project duration.
- Silt Socks come in multiple sizes including 8″, 12″, 18″ and 24″
- Easy to Self-Install
- Wood stakes included
WHY CHOOSE SILT SOCK
Made from processed wood, wood chips are dense and have a rigid structure. Their uniform size and shape provide consistency in sediment control performance.
The porous structure of wood chips allows for slower water filtration. This slow filtration helps capture fine sediment particles more effectively, making wood chips better for controlling erosion in areas with fine soils or slower-moving water.
Wood chips decompose slowly due to their dense, woody structure. This allows them to provide longer-lasting sediment control, reducing the frequency of replacements and maintenance.
Wood chips provide great stability when placed in areas with high water flow. However, their weight can make transportation and installation slightly more labor-intensive.
Sourced as a byproduct of forestry and sawmill operations, wood chips are a renewable resource.
Silt Sock traps sediment while allowing water to filter through. The design of the Sock provides close contact with the ground preventing water from flowing underneath.
Silt Socks are made with Wood Chips
- Our wood chips are weed free, seed free, disease free, and PH neutral
- 90% of the filler material consists of pieces sized between 1/4″ and 2″
- Combined with the fabric, our wood chips create a high flow through had filtration rate
Our fabric is a Polypropylene Ultra Mesh Fabric.
